If you haven’t visited the zoo for a while, then now is the time to plan a trip to the Billabong because we have a few new additions that you’ll love!
Late last year our Meerkats Annika and Suri, became proud parents (again) to four cute Meerkat pups. Still playful and small, our pups are growing quickly so don’t leave it too long before you make your next visit!
More recently, our Southern Cassowary named Big Girl welcomed a new buddy who’s joined us from our good friends at Sydney Zoo.
There are some new arrivals coming soon, including our Blue & Gold Macaw Skylar who will be returning to the zoo family, along with her new partner Zazu. Also set to join the pair are Pippa and Pedro who are proud parents to a beautiful baby macaw. There will also be a couple of Blue-Fronted Amazon Parrots mixed in with the macaw flock in our freshly built South American Bird Aviary near the Monkey Mayhem Exhibit.
That’s not all, we will be welcoming a spiky creature into the mix, with an Echidna soon to be making a new home in our cool custom-built exhibit near our Spotted-tailed Quoll and Golden Brushtail Possum.
We’re excited to announce some of your favourite Zoo Keeper Presentations have returned daily. This is your opportunity to learn more about our conservation efforts and experience an engaging and educational show from our experienced team. Zoo Talk times and animals may vary, check the updated daily board upon arriving at the zoo.
Whilst you’re here, make sure you take a break and enjoy a bite to eat from our delicious menu in our airy café that extends to the outdoors. All our meals are house-made by our talented chefs. You can enjoy a healthy breakfast, lunch and morning or afternoon tea.
