Billabong Zoo has the biggest koala statue in NSW. This huge piece of outdoor art, standing over 7 metres high, was created in 1990 making this giant koala trio the most photographed koalas in the country. Inside the Zoo you can enjoy a koala up-close Encounter within our world-renowned koala breeding centre where you get to feed and pat one of our resident koalas (booking essential – click here for online Encounter booking – or you can call 6585 1060). The Zoo’s informative Keeper Talks will educate and delight with fascinating facts and habits of Australia’s iconic koalas. There is also a photo opportunity where you can pat a koala after the talk. Our Zoo keepers will also highlight the fact that koalas are now listed on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species and how much is needed to be done to ensure the survival of Australian koalas in the wild.
