Billabong Zoo, Port Macquarie is the best value Zoo in Australia. With 16 Zoo Talks (Keeper Presentations, Feeding & Patting)) FREE every day, plus a FREE reptile presentation on the weekends and every day during holidays, plus a children’s play area, plus the chance to book animal encounters (get up-close),  plus the chance to see and hear over 80 different species of mammals, reptiles and birds. We look after over 200 animals – one day really isn’t enough to visit this friendly and educational zoo.  Set in over 10 acres of lush gardens, with tranquil koi ponds and family picnic areas. Billabong Zoo has won many awards over the years as an outstanding tourist destination.  Modern day zoos have to wear a number of hats to be viable as a business and fulfil a role as educators. We sum our purpose under three categories. RECREATION | EDUCATION | CONSERVATION.

We need to provide a memorable day out for all our visitors, especially children. Rain or shine. We have specially designed our Zoo to ensure that a great experience is had even in bad weather. As we are on the mid north coast of NSW, Australia we have a great climate,  a comprehensive university research programmed declared the area as the best climate in Australia for humans.  So we don’t have too many bad weather days. From the first friendly welcome to the sincere wish that you pay us a further visit, the staff and Zoo Keepers, on behalf of all the animals we care for, hope you leave us after your day out with a deeper understanding of some of the earth’s wonderful and varied wildlife – both our Australian and Exotic animals. We are Ambassadors for Wildlife and use our Zoo and Wildlife park to highlight some of the facts that endanger particular species. We believe that education leads to conversation that in turn will lead to meaningful conservation intervention. Hope to see you at Billabong Zoo soon.
